Hey! Welcome to my Song Fight page. I am Greg (or gkort in the Narbotic). I mess around with music when I get a chance and I heard about this website on 99X (rock station in Atlanta) called Song Fight.com. So I Decided to check it out.

Here's the deal: Sometime between Wednesday and Friday, The Fightmaster puts up a new song title and anybody that wants to can create a song based on that title. The song has to be in somewhere between Monday and Wednesday @ 9:59 AM EST. It has to be a mono 64kb mp3 file. Those are the only rules. Once the songs are posted, everybody listens to them and votes on their favorite one. There is always much (and sometimes quite spirited) discussion about them in the boards. Be sure to remember that all of the Song Fight songs are created beginning to end in 3-4 days!

 

So I don't really have a band, okay. I really love music and I try to play guitar as often as I can. I just don't have the time for a band now, you know, my family keeps me pretty busy (Wife, 3 daughters and two annoying dogs). Plus I have to work for a living. Music is just a hobby.

My Gear: I use Squier Stagemaster guitar, a Dean playmate Bass, an old cheap harmony classical acoustic, a Korg AX1G effects pedal, a Pandora's box (by Korg), a Laney GC120C amp (I don't usually record using the amp), an old Studiomaster 6 ch mixer, a Marshall MXL V75M condenser mic, a cheap CAD mic ($10 at Mars), sometimes an Easy Rider harmonica and every now and then an old Yamaha keyboard somebody gave me. I run this into an old 233mhz Pentium MMX via a SoundBlaster Live sound card. I use Cakewalk Home Studio v9.0 for all my recording. That's where I also write the drum, bass, keyboard, strings, etc. I sometimes use Sound Forge for some tasks. I usually add some reverb via the sound card, but that's about it. Sometimes I'll record and use sound effects from who knows where.

So, like I said, I don't have a band, but I needed a band name.
